#R4EtaughtMe we can go further together
At the start of this month, the R4E community launched a campaign to spread the word about the impact of community-led reproducibility education. Using the hashtag #R4EtaughtMe, R4E workshop participants and volunteers began to write and record and share the favorite thing they learned through R4E. We started with a video starring R4E volunteers Dr. Nafisa Jadavji and Dr. Nele Haelterman:
“#R4EtaughtMe about electronic lab notebooks. I implemented using one when I started my own research group a few years ago.” - Nafisa Jadavji
“#R4EtaughtMe the importance of depositing my reagents in repositories which really would have saved me a lot of heartache before losing my precious plasmids.” - Nele Haelterman
R4E volunteer co-instructors run over 20 workshops per year at scientific conferences around the world. R4E is a non-profit, volunteer-run project and our expenses such as conference registrations, society memberships, and childcare are supported by sponsors and donors. The #R4EtaughtMe campaign aims to raise $5000 to support R4E volunteer stipends to cover expenses and support a diverse community.
We created a crowdfunding page with perks for every donor level, from handmade vaccine record card holders to 30-minute customized reproducibility trainings. All perks will be mailed out at the end of the month to all our generous donors!
Now 2 weeks into the campaign, we are 97% to our goal! We want to send a special thank you to our two new Violet Sponsors: New England Biolabs and Dorothy Bishop! Just as importantly, we have been able to reach new partners and volunteers thought the campaign to grow our community. We have learned how far we can go to advance reproducibility when we reach out, and try to reach our goals together.
ICYMI, see some of the highlights from this campaign so far below! And remember to help spread the word of the amazing work of our diverse community of researchers.

🪄Magic🪄 happens when #researchers share their knowledge! Today's #R4EtaughtMe is from @erodriguezroman. Tackling barriers to #reproducibility is best done by learning from practices in other disciplines!
